On November 12, 2016, nearly 200 current and former teachers, students, parents and supporters of the Islamic Community gathered to celebrate the legacy of our past and the promise of our future.  The program opened with Quran recitation and a passionate speech by one of our senior students.

Several of the founders of the school presented the story of its beginnings.  Students from the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s intrigued and entertained the crowd with fond memories of their school days.  Current students sang songs, read original  poems, and presented essays about how attending the school has benefited their lives.  After the presentations, we were treated to a delicious dinner catered by a former student and teacher, and delectable dessert prepared by a current and former parent.  Everyone enjoyed themselves and appreciated the decorations, which included pictures from the 1980s to 2016 on each table.

The evening ended with a short presentation on the effort to relocate the school in a few years to a larger facility.  We thank all who attended and those who were unable to attend, but made du’ah for a successful event.
